As the weather improves, it’s only fitting to head outside for your family photographs! Today, I was shooting in one of my all-time favourite locations, a beautiful meadow near Whyteleafe in Surrey.
This lovely family booked in for one of my 1 hour outdoor family photoshoots at my Whyteleafe location, and if there is one thing that I have learnt from my years of experience as a family photographer, it's to get those posed photographs in quick! Little ones rarely give you a whole hour of concentration!
I made sure to get a good selection of photographs of the whole family together, a few portraits with each parent, plus one or two individual shots. One of my favourite poses at the moment is this adorable shot sitting on Mum or Dad's lap. I love to ask parents to give their children a little tickle to make sure we get some really natural and beaming smiles! Works every time!
In the final 30 minutes of our photoshoot, I love to have a bit of fun and get some candid shots of everyone exploring and playing outdoors. Holding hands and running through the long grass or tree climbing is always a firm favourite! Have a look below at this little boy perfectly demonstrating my 'sleeping panther' pose. This fabulous tree is just perfect for taking portraits of children lying across its low down branches and really helps to distract children who don’t like having their photo taken from the fact that they are on a photoshoot!
After our session I got to work editing all of the photographs from our shoot. I love to add a warm summery glow to my images, and of course make sure that if there are any snotty noses, fly away hairs or spots of dirt on families clothing, that this is removed.
